Dennis Hextall played as a Forward on the North Dakota Hockey team from 1963-66. Hextall is from Poplar Point MB and is the 1st UND hockey alumni to play in the NHL. Hextall played 13 seasons in then NHL recording 681 games, 153 goals, 350 assists, 503 points and 1398 penalty minuets. Hextall's NHL career included time with the NY Rangers, LA Kings, California Golden Seals, MN North Stars, Detroit Red Wings, and Washington Capitals.
